Rodney Bowers, ITIL Master Certified

Rodney Bowers is Principal Consultant for MinervaWorks, a position he has held since founding the company in 2009. He has directed projects and engagements at a variety of clients and includes in his client list such companies as SITA, Hughes Telematics, ACS Technologies, Advocate Networks, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and Redline Recovery Services.

Prior to joining MinervaWorks, Bowers was Vice President of Information Technology for Financial Asset Management Systems ( FAMS ). At FAMS, Bowers oversaw all technology infrastructure, internal systems, external application service portals and implementation of all technological products and services in support of FAMS. He was also responsible for setting the strategic vision, technical direction, and financial controls on behalf of the information technology organization. Bowers implemented Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) as a best practices foundation for FAMS and has made ITIL-based presentations to the CIO Roundtable at American Capital, the equity owner of FAMS.

Prior to joining Financial Asset Management Systems, Bowers served as Senior Director of Data Center Services for Ceridian. At Ceridian Bowers managed a technology team responsible for all IT infrastructure for the company’s global data centers. Prior to Ceridian, Bowers was with ITC Deltacom in Atlanta, Georgia. At ITC, Bowers was responsible for all elements of customer-facing data services and technology, including the delivery of network connectivity and web services to over 3,000 companies. Preceding his tenure at ITC, Bowers had been Founder and General Manager at Minerva Automation, Inc., a systems design, implementation and consulting firm in Atlanta.

During his technology career, he has focused on emerging technologies, engineering and IT organizational development, software engineering, systems architecture, data management, network design and research and development. Bowers has spoken on these topics at Interop, in F5 World and in Network World. Bowers also writes a technology advisory column for a major financial service magazine.

Bowers is a member of itSMF and is Master Certified in ITIL. He is also a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) and is Six Sigma Champion certified. Bowers serves a number of civic organizations and is on the Industry Advisory Council and Foundation Board at Southern Polytechnic State University.

A native of Georgia, Bowers completed his education at Southern Polytechnic State University in Atlanta, GA, where he majored in Electrical Engineering. He is a resident of Marietta, GA.
